UNSUNG EXTRAORDINARY HEROINE - Athena and Nike of the 21st Century

One cannot leave a conversation without feeling a sense of empowerment. Rachel Beck is a warrior in her own right, determined to live the life she loves.  Her special powers are like those of ancient Athena and her ancient companion Nike -  wisdom, stratagem, war and victory.  The only resolve that Rachel is waging, is that of changing the culture associated with Diversity, Positivism and Kindness.  Her victories, are not on a battlefield but with everyday people within her network on social media platforms. Victories are unseen by the world but in incremental significant terms, everyone knows her name, her platform, her message. She made up her mind a long time ago despite life challenges to keep on going.  If you were to ask her for wisdom to tell her future self, Rachel would eloquently tell you [...] "You have moments that will either make or break you.  You have to get to a mindset that asks where do I go from here - Go left or go right then execute that decision without he

Unsung Extraordinary Hero - A Ray of Sunshine Eminates

As the sun rises above a majestic mountain top, streams of sun beams gently kiss to the land with gold. A gold that is priceless, nurturing and brings abundance.   One by one each beam reaches the heart and hearth of  someone.   Such a tranquil moment untouched by world prejudice, unkindness or discontent; just pure bliss.   Wendy Gilhula is much like the gentle beams of sunlight that grace the earth.  Each radiant beam is a life touching a life.  The smile that Wendy Gilhula generates from the inside out.  Her mission is to bring kindness, not just to everyday life through her writing, arming children with tools  and the workplace.     If you were to ask Wendy about her journey, she would tell you is started with a question.  A conversation that embraced further contemplation.  The root of the pondering began a journey of wit, discovery and determination to fill the world with kindness and magical stories. Wendy, understood as she raised her children that everyone has a story to tell

UNSUNG EXTRAORDINARY HEROES LIVING ORDINARY LIVES - MINDSET MAVEN

With long curly, buxom blonde hair waving on the breeze, a harvest wreath upon her brow, the helmet of a knight tucked under her arm, Tanya Pluckrose is a modern day Joan of Arc.  She is a mindset maven who's voice travels like a whisper in the wind to touch the hearts of others. Her purpose of life is to give her tribe, her community with the armor of an incredible mindset.  The flag that billows beside her regales the weary traveler of her intent - her love of serving and goodness.Words that describe Tanya are:  💓Go Getter 👍 Loving,  👼Determined  💓Relentless 💞 Resourceful, 💪 Resilient 💝 Has Integrity honors her word. Of these words what resonates is Tanya's soulful language and super-power -  her mindset.  She is like the armor she carries, resilient, resourceful with a touch of kindness that can penetrate the armor of the soul.  Because of her beauty to be kind and resourceful, her baskets are never empty and her giving service is done with a pure heart.  She is a mai

Authentically You - Genuine and Sure

In the quiet of a morning, as I awoke, the day was dark and cloudy, nonetheless it was not a dismal moment, but one of gratitude and thanks.  As I moved through my morning routine there seemed to be a sense that my day had something to awaken me to.  A story was on my mind and it needed to be shared.   As I pondered, struggled, thought and grappled with many thoughts, I realized that periodically I needed to speak about where I am at.    My heart could feel the call to action and that is very powerful, something one ought not ignore.  It is very much like the call of the wild.  We are truly domesticated in our daily routines and rituals. Practically bound to them.  Some are oddities that we cannot explain away and yet are necessary for us to get through our day.  My call of the wild is of a different nature.      What that nature is, in simple terms boils down to the call to be true to yourself, your principles and how you lean into life. The conversation I engaged in with myself to

M E N - Mighty, Empowering, Nurturing. A Celebration for Father's Day

This is dedicated to all  M E N - Mighty, Empowering, Nurturing. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.  MEN who whether they are fathers or not bring to the fabric of life an equalization.  That equalization is their logic, nurturing, life experience that they are always willing to share, their tender heart and yes they inexplicably like women have a tender heart.  Tenderness and care is an indelible strength that should not be dismissed as a weakness.    We have long socialized them into a corner that says MEN do not cry, but they do.  I have spent many a moment recently watching my DAD cry with me as we try to get through the tough life experiences raising a special needs child;  where his support of me is needed.  MEN have soul, heart, mind without a doubt.   It is time to be open to awaking to a real sense of what men are -  strong, vigilant like that mighty oak tree, but deep inside they are vulnerable, caring, and loveable.    Let's take a moment to celebrate every day of the year those

UNSUNG EXTRAORDINARY HERO - POWERHOUSE WOMAN - A MAJESTIC LIONESS

If one were to ask her what animal she represented, the first instinct for me was a Giraffe;  not because of her beautiful strawberry blonde mane of hair, but because of her veracity to have fun and laugh.  One would not think  now that her greatest challenge was being an introvert, and seemingly from her position of thought, much rather an ambivert.  The mere thought of putting herself out there was in and of itself unheard of. When she joined the LinkedIn platform, it meant that she had to break through the barriers in order to interact, even comment.  That took patience, diligence, persistence and time.  Diligence and time to some are a reasonable expectation, but for Elaine Jacque, her first comment took months to get to a place of saying a few words.  She can relate to you if you are a newbie to the experience of social media.  Her heart and soul do not let her forget, because she leads with light and care.   Knowing her challenges and facing them has placed her in the court of Em

Unsung Extraordinary Heroes Living Ordinary Lives - Powerhouse Women

Each moment of our lives we are influenced by trends, things, media, music, did I say things.  But most of all by people who enter our lives like a cool breeze unknowingly to touch our lives, whether intentional or unintentional. Understanding the Law of Attraction enables one to lean into the ideology that what you think about you bring about.  Essentially we attract what we manifest.  It is fortunate when the universe brings you into connection with people who uplift, believe and show you your path. Without a doubt, I have felt that movement in the air when the universe aligns.  This gentle nudge brought me to a place of contemplation.   That deep thought resonated two words,  Powerhouse Woman.   It was a recipe for being a champion.   A cooking lesson so to speak where the law of attraction and kindness were gently folded into that mix like the white peaks of egg whites.  We can picture that wonderful blend and how smooth, fluffy and light the chemical rendition of cake we get.  The

Unsung Exraordinary Hero - It's never to late to find your purpose and live your dreams

Ageism, what is it anyway?  I had not heard that term until recently.  I would have to say that age is not a criteria for being an Unsung Hero. In fact there is no age limit to heroism.  We all can step through the door and create a life of meaning regardless of our age, status, education or creed.  You are never to old to make a difference now.  We all can learn from each other.   Let me introduce our shooting star and unsung hero Garrett Hardy, who defies ageism, with heart, intellect, drive and passion  is hot on the trail of manifesting his life's purpose. Garrett's innovative problems solving thought process, with the culmination of a dynamic team are on the path to solve a serious problem.  This change is critical to the landscape and climate of Mental Health Awareness and care. With limited resources available for mental wellness something has to be done.   The system of care is expensive and slow, leaving loved ones to suffer in silence. People innately want to help o

Unsung Extraordinary Hero - Glenn Marsden putting life and heart into Mental Health

The definition of a HERO based on author, J eff Sanderfer is someone who shapes events, who acts rather than watches, who is creative and brave."(1). When I think of an Unsung Extraordinary Hero, I think of the creator and director behind the highly acclaimed Imperfectly Perfect Campaign. This man epitomizes  action, shaping culture - social values, creativity and innovation in his approach to put life and heart into Mental Health. As I sit pensively waiting for that moment to connect with none other than Yorkshire born, Glenn Marsden, I explore the world of Imperfectly Perfect Campaign.org.  When you launch the web  page, o ne is immediately intrigued by the stories and pictures that resonate a truth.   Instantly you see unfiltered real photographs of influential public figures. The faces bear the grief and hardship of mental illness. These people live amongst us with voices that are neither yelling or screaming but talking, rather frankly and poignantly about their battle. We ar

Unsung Extraordinary Hero - A Journey to Fulfilling a Calling to Be a Voice

In the wake of current life situations with COVID-19 Pandemic the word HERO only synonymous with comic books has become a household word. We are in a time and place where we desperately need the visibility and creation of heros, heroines, people who are heroic.  From a college course book in one of my business classes, the definition in this time and space is certainly appropriate. In the introduction, Jeff Sanderfer said, " heroic people - people who shape events, who act rather than watch, who are creative and brave."(1.) This is a moment to ask yourself the hard questions that often we ignore or pass over.  What is the journey or path to becoming a #HERO.  Is it at the root of what we have done most of our life, or did we receive an experience due to external influences or was there a singular internal event that changes our lives.   Perhaps it is best described as a calling or as I read recently a VOCATION, which in latin VOCARE means "to call." Did you come to

S M I L E with Michael Ray

With hasten intent and a fire in my eye, I greeted Tuesday morning, May 05, 2020 with passion and a resolve to find out what the S M I L E Project is all about.  I was going to step outside of my comfort zone and have a conversation, with a man, who I just met as a contact on LinkedIn. He is an ordinary guy doing something extraordinary. He is  living a life with purpose. This man, has a purpose, mission and dream that resonated with me from the inside out. His name is Michael Ray, from Kentucky and he is the author, self motivated, driver behind the S M I L E Project Louisville - Kentucky. After seeing a post about it on the LinkedIn platform, I was curious and wanted to know more. Michael understands , appreciates and is driven by the power of one (1), for him it is very real.  His life experiences have brought him to where he is now.  He keeps his focus simple - random acts of kindness.  You will find him amid a car full of smile balloons, bright yellow, with camera in h
