Authentically You - Genuine and Sure

In the quiet of a morning, as I awoke, the day was dark and cloudy, nonetheless it was not a dismal moment, but one of gratitude and thanks.  As I moved through my morning routine there seemed to be a sense that my day had something to awaken me to.  A story was on my mind and it needed to be shared.   As I pondered, struggled, thought and grappled with many thoughts, I realized that periodically I needed to speak about where I am at.    My heart could feel the call to action and that is very powerful, something one ought not ignore.  It is very much like the call of the wild.  We are truly domesticated in our daily routines and rituals. Practically bound to them.  Some are oddities that we cannot explain away and yet are necessary for us to get through our day.  My call of the wild is of a different nature.      What that nature is, in simple terms boils down to the call to be true to yourself, your principle...

M E N - Mighty, Empowering, Nurturing. A Celebration for Father's Day

This is dedicated to all  M E N - Mighty, Empowering, Nurturing. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.  MEN who whether they are fathers or not bring to the fabric of life an equalization.  That equalization is their logic, nurturing, life experience that they are always willing to share, their tender heart and yes they inexplicably like women have a tender heart.  Tenderness and care is an indelible strength that should not be dismissed as a weakness.    We have long socialized them into a corner that says MEN do not cry, but they do.  I have spent many a moment recently watching my DAD cry with me as we try to get through the tough life experiences raising a special needs child;  where his support of me is needed.  MEN have soul, heart, mind without a doubt.   It is time to be open to awaking to a real sense of what men are -  strong, vigilant like that mighty oak tree, but deep inside they are vulnerable, caring, and loveable. ...

UNSUNG EXTRAORDINARY HERO - POWERHOUSE WOMAN - A MAJESTIC LIONESS

If one were to ask her what animal she represented, the first instinct for me was a Giraffe;  not because of her beautiful strawberry blonde mane of hair, but because of her veracity to have fun and laugh.  One would not think  now that her greatest challenge was being an introvert, and seemingly from her position of thought, much rather an ambivert.  The mere thought of putting herself out there was in and of itself unheard of. When she joined the LinkedIn platform, it meant that she had to break through the barriers in order to interact, even comment.  That took patience, diligence, persistence and time.  Diligence and time to some are a reasonable expectation, but for Elaine Jacque, her first comment took months to get to a place of saying a few words.  She can relate to you if you are a newbie to the experience of social media.  Her heart and soul do not let her forget, because she leads with light and care.   Knowing her challenges and f...

Unsung Extraordinary Heroes Living Ordinary Lives - Powerhouse Women

Each moment of our lives we are influenced by trends, things, media, music, did I say things.  But most of all by people who enter our lives like a cool breeze unknowingly to touch our lives, whether intentional or unintentional. Understanding the Law of Attraction enables one to lean into the ideology that what you think about you bring about.  Essentially we attract what we manifest.  It is fortunate when the universe brings you into connection with people who uplift, believe and show you your path. Without a doubt, I have felt that movement in the air when the universe aligns.  This gentle nudge brought me to a place of contemplation.   That deep thought resonated two words,  Powerhouse Woman.   It was a recipe for being a champion.   A cooking lesson so to speak where the law of attraction and kindness were gently folded into that mix like the white peaks of egg whites.  We can picture that wonderful blend and how smooth, f...

Unsung Exraordinary Hero - It's never to late to find your purpose and live your dreams

Ageism, what is it anyway?  I had not heard that term until recently.  I would have to say that age is not a criteria for being an Unsung Hero. In fact there is no age limit to heroism.  We all can step through the door and create a life of meaning regardless of our age, status, education or creed.  You are never to old to make a difference now.  We all can learn from each other.   Let me introduce our shooting star and unsung hero Garrett Hardy, who defies ageism, with heart, intellect, drive and passion  is hot on the trail of manifesting his life's purpose. Garrett's innovative problems solving thought process, with the culmination of a dynamic team are on the path to solve a serious problem.  This change is critical to the landscape and climate of Mental Health Awareness and care. With limited resources available for mental wellness something has to be done.   The system of care is expensive and slow, leaving loved ones to suffe...

Unsung Extraordinary Hero - Glenn Marsden putting life and heart into Mental Health

The definition of a HERO based on author, J eff Sanderfer is someone who shapes events, who acts rather than watches, who is creative and brave."(1). When I think of an Unsung Extraordinary Hero, I think of the creator and director behind the highly acclaimed Imperfectly Perfect Campaign. This man epitomizes  action, shaping culture - social values, creativity and innovation in his approach to put life and heart into Mental Health. As I sit pensively waiting for that moment to connect with none other than Yorkshire born, Glenn Marsden, I explore the world of Imperfectly Perfect Campaign.org.  When you launch the web  page, o ne is immediately intrigued by the stories and pictures that resonate a truth.   Instantly you see unfiltered real photographs of influential public figures. The faces bear the grief and hardship of mental illness. These people live amongst us with voices that are neither yelling or screaming but talking, rather frankly and poignantly a...

The Journey - Getting Personal

When I started writing it was  02:18 am where I live.  I was awakened and summoned from my slumber to meet my truth.  Many years ago in the wake of a loss, many losses all at once, family therapy seemed to be the way to restore my sleep then, since it was ambivalently not open to a way to evoke restoring my body.  An intuitive therapist taught me to be awake to my un-sleep through truth. Over two decades later and I am here again, it is my mind, and heart getting me to see and process my truth(s).  Everybody's truth is different, for some it may be  seeing a situation for what it was but for me it is admitting my lack of capacity to deal with a situation and I needed help to take a moment to recover and refocus. Somehow over the years I have come the sordid conclusion that not being put together  Aka strong, was bad form or worse  a weakness.  Recently, amid the challenges we all face with COV-19, I found that it is okay, to have a mom...
